About Rhinos
Rhinos Volleyball Club was formed from Cambridge University players
and members of a local club called Hash House Harriers. Rhinos
continues today drawing it members from the University and the
Cambridge area.
Rhinos aims to compete at all levels. We enter teams in the county
leagues for both men and women as well as the local Cambridge league.
During the summer we play informally and enter in various
tournaments.
Rhinos is a mixed club and has member of all ages and abilities, so
come along and try - the first session is free.
We have training every Tuesday (8:15pm - 10:15pm) and Sunday (usually
4pm - 6pm) at the
Leys school sports center.
The Tuesday session is mixed and is coached by one of the Rhinos
players. The session is usually part training drills and part games
(depending on the coach). The Sunday sessions are split between mens
team training and womens team training. Please check the
schedule for details.
We usually go for a drink in
The Panton Arms
afterwards.
If you are interested in playing, come along to the training sessions,
the first week is free. If you want to let us know you are coming or
ask more about the training then please
email us.
During the summer we play outside on Tuesdays from about 7pm
until dark on
Parker's Piece
and drink in the
Free Press
afterwards.
We also play in many of the outdoor events held in East Anglia and
further a field. We are well known for our annual trip to Ostend to
compete with the best in Europe.
